Santa Barbara County, CA –The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office Coroner's Bureau has identified Asher Linden Tenud, 19, of Portland (OR), as a victim killed in a head-on collision on Highway 1 in Vandenberg Village Tuesday morning.
The crash happened at around 10 a.m. December 23 on State Route 1 near Constellation Road.
Reportedly, Tenud was driving a southbound green 1998 Jaguar XJR on the highway, entered a right-hand curve in the roadway and lost control of his car.
Tenud's vehicle then traveled through the dirt median and slammed head-on into a gray 2007 Honda Odyssey traveling northbound on Highway 1.
The impact pushed both vehicles to the right shoulder, with the Jaguar overturned onto its roof.
Tenud was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Honda driver, whose name, age and hometown weren't released, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported by American Medical Response personnel to Lompoc Valley Medical Center.
An investigation is underway.
