CHP said Edger Reveles was driving a 2011 GMC Terrain eastbound on Modoc Road when, for some reason, the GMC crossed the double solid yellow lines into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a 2023 Audi A4, driven by an 87-year-old Goleta woman from Goleta.
Santa Barbara, CA– A Goleta male teenager, identified as 19-year-old Edger Roja Reveles, was killed following a traffic collision involving three vehicles at an intersection in Goleta, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The deadly collision happened at the intersection of Via Senda and Modoc Road on Tuesday, April 15 at around 12:30 p.m.
CHP said Edger Reveles was driving a 2011 GMC Terrain eastbound on Modoc Road when, for some reason, the GMC crossed the double solid yellow lines into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a 2023 Audi A4, driven by an 87-year-old Goleta woman from Goleta.
The GMC then slammed into the side of a 1998 Toyota Camry operated by a 49-year-old Mariposa woman, before rolling over and coming to rest against a raised concrete barrier.
Reveles was rushed to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital where he later died.
The Goleta woman suffered serious injuries and was also taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
The third woman refused medical transport after being evaluated at the scene.
The deadly incident led to the closure of both eastbound and westbound lanes along Modoc Road.
The deadly accident remains under investigation.
