, CA. – At least five people were injured in a two-vehicle collision that happened Sunday evening at an intersection in the Wilmington neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The wreck took place just before 8 p.m. near North Wilmington Boulevard and West Opp Street.

An older model light-colored Volkswagen Beetle and a dark-colored four-door sedan were involved in the crash.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, at least five people were injured in the collision. Details about the extent of injuries and conditions of the patients were not given.

The sedan acquired major damage to its hood after hitting a power pole. The Beetle stopped at the center of the intersection.

The cause of the collision was not immediately established.

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the crash.
