The incident transpired around 1:50 p.m. on Highway 74 and Morris Ranch Road near Thomas Mountain.
Mountain Center, CA. – Two people were taken to the hospital after a car collision that happened Sunday afternoon near an intersection in Mountain Center, the Riverside County Fire Department reported.
The incident transpired around 1:50 p.m. on Highway 74 and Morris Ranch Road near Thomas Mountain.
Two vehicles were involved in the accident.
One of the drivers was trapped in one of the cars and needed extrication. Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the victim then transported them to the hospital by helicopter for treatment of moderate injuries.
The other driver was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance with minor to moderate injuries.
Both patients were the only occupants of vehicles.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the collision.
