Reportedly, a vehicle traveling south on Vermont Avenue ran a red light and collided with another car heading east on 66th.

Los Angeles, CA. – Two people died, and two others were hurt in a collision that happened Monday morning near an intersection in South Los Angeles.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the wreck transpired around 5:11 a.m. in the 6600 block of South Vermont Avenue at 66th Street.
Reportedly, a vehicle traveling south on Vermont Avenue ran a red light and collided with another car heading east on 66th.
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police initially reported that a male suspect fled the scene but later clarified that that person and a passenger in an SUV involved in the collision were taken to the hospital.
Investigators closed Vermont Avenue near 66th Street as they worked the scene.
