Fresno County, CA. – 20-year-old Gabriel Vasquez has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner's Office as the driver who died in a head-on crash that happened Thursday morning in Raisin City.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Vasquez was driving a GMC Terrain southbound on Hayes Avenue when his car veered into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a Toyota Camry.
Vasquez, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures.
Two occupants in the Camry were hospitalized with unknown injuries.
An initial investigation indicated the possibility that Vasquez may have experienced a medical emergency prior to the crash. The coroner's office had not yet done a medical examination to confirm it.
An investigation is ongoing.

The fatal collision happened just after 5:00 a.m. on May 22, on Hayes Avenue near Huntsman Avenue.
Authorities said a 20-year-old man was driving a GMC southbound on Hayes Avenue when he crossed into the northbound side and collided head-on with a Camry.
The man was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released. Officials believe he might have experienced a medical emergency before the accident.
The men in the Camry were taken to the hospital for treatment.
