Richmond, CA – At least one person was killed in a traffic collision involving multiple vehicles on Interstate 80 in Richmond Saturday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at about 6:13 p.m. on May 24 on westbound Interstate 80, just east of Potrero Avenue.
According to the CHP, several vehicles were involved in the crash. Two of the involved cars – a white sedan and a gray sedan – overturned after the collision.
One female motorist was trapped in one of the vehicles and required extrication.
Authorities said at least one person was killed in the crash. The identity of the deceased party was not immediately released.
One person was transported to Highland Hospital in Oakland and another was transported to John Muir Hospital in unknown condition.
No additional details regarding the crash were provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
