Franklin County, WA – The Washington State Patrol has a identified a victim killed in a multi-vehicle collision on US 395 IN Franklin County as Andrew Thomas, 29, of Spokane, Saturday afternoon.
The tragic traffic collision was reported just before 4:30 p.m. May 31, on State Route 395 about four miles north of Connell.
A preliminary investigation revealed that two semis crashed with one rear-ending another. Several other vehicles behind the semis then crashed into them.
Thomas died following the pile-up. Five other people were injured, with two being taken to the hospital. The other three were treated at the crash site.
The police said extreme winds that day had blown dust and wildfire smoke into the area, making visibility limited.
Both lanes of the highway was shut down for nearly six hours as officers investigate the scene.
No further information about the crash was provided.
An investigation is underway.
