According to the WSP, Strand was driving a Subaru Forrester on Farrs Lane when she came to a stop at U.S. 2
Pend Oreille County, WA.- Nancy L. Strand, 87, of Deer Park, was killed in a vehicle collision in Pend Oreille County last week on Wednesday, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The wreck happened on U.S. 2 and Farrs Lane at about 8:30 a.m. May 28.
According to the WSP, Strand was driving a Subaru Forrester on Farrs Lane when she came to a stop at U.S. 2.
She then pulled forward and was struck by a Toyota Prius that was heading north on U.S. 2.
Strand was taken to Newport Hospital and was later transfered to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
She was pronounced deceased at the hospital days later.
The driver of the Prius, Nelson Antoniuk, of Nine Miles Falls, was transported to Newport Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
