Street Vendor Hurt After Out-Of-Control Car Hits Parked Truck in Hesperia

, CA. – A street vendor was hospitalized after an out-of-control car struck a pickup parked near a roadside stand Sunday morning in Hesperia.

The incident occurred on Highway 395 near Avenal Street.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department reported that a Ford Mustang was traveling behind another car that allegedly braked unexpectedly.

The driver of the Mustang swerved in an attempt to avoid a collision but ended up losing control of the vehicle, going off the roadway.

The car hit a brick wall with iron fencing and then struck a red Toyota Tacoma pickup truck that was parked next to a vendor's stand.

At that time, the vendor was unloading items at the rear of the truck.

The vendor complained of pain to the leg.

The Fire Protection District responded to the scene and transported the man by ground ambulance to a hospital for treatment. It was unclear if he was directly hit or injured by the impact's force or debris.

No one else was injured.

The driver of the Mustang stopped and cooperated with investigators.

The Mustang acquired heavy front-end damage and the truck sustained damage to the front passenger side.
