Salem, OR – The Oregon State Police is investigating a deadly auto-pedestrian accident that occurred along Silverton Road in Salam late Sunday night.
The deadly collision occurred at about 10:00 p.m. on June 8 near the 6000 block of Silverton Road NE.
According to OSP, a vehicle operated by a 58-year-old woman struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was not immediately clear if the pedestrian was in a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
Silverton Road was closed for about three and a half hours as the police investigated the incident.
The female driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
No additional information is available at this time.
The crash is under investigation.
