Los Angeles, CA. – Two men were hospitalized with serious injuries after the car they were traveling in went off the roadway and overturned early Tuesday afternoon on a transition ramp in Boyle Heights.
The incident took place around 12:20 p.m. at the interchange of the 101 and 60 freeways.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, a car was traveling on the 60 Freeway eastbound transition road when, for an unknown reason, it came off that road down the hillside onto the 101 transition ramp to the southbound 5 Freeway. The car downed several light poles and about 100 feet of guardrail before overturning onto its roof.
Two passengers in the vehicle, only identified as men between the ages of 25 and 30, suffered serious injuries in the crash. The patients were hospitalized in “at least” serious condition.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
