San Diego, CA.– A woman was transported to a hospital with critical injuries after being hit by a vehicle in the Talmadge neighborhood of San Diego early Thursday morning, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The incident took place in the 4800 block of El Cajon Boulevard at about 3:15 a.m.
The woman was walking south across El Cajon Boulevard when she was struck by a 2011 Toyota Prius that was driven east by a 69-year-old man.
The woman was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries.
The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Alcohol is not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
