A Chevrolet Silverado was traveling west on SR 260 when it tried to pass vehicles in a no-passing zone and collided head-on with an oncoming sedan and an SUV

Forest Lakes, AZ.- One person was killed in a head-on collision in the Forest Lakes area on Wednesday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The accident occurred on State Route 260 at milepost 286 at around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18.
According to the report, a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling west on SR 260 when it tried to pass vehicles in a no-passing zone and collided head-on with an oncoming sedan and an SUV.
The driver of the sedan was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Two occupants of the SUV and the driver of the Chevrolet were flown to Phoenix hospitals with serious injuries.
Authorities reported that the driver of the Chevrolet was suspected of impairment.
The westbound lanes of SR 260 were shut down as authorities investigated the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
