A driver reportedly hit a pedestrian in the area and fled the scene traveling north on Baker Street

Bakersfield, CA – Two people in accidents involving a hit-and-run driver in Bakersfield on Sunday evening, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
The incident took place on Baker and Sumner Streets at about 6 p.m. June 22.
A driver reportedly hit a pedestrian in the area and fled the scene traveling north on Baker Street.
Shortly after, the suspect failed to stop for a red light at Niles Street and collided with a second vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle died at the scene of the accident.
The pedestrian was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The suspect was also transported to hospital with significant injuries.
Police are conducting an investigation into the collision.
