A man was riding a Harley-Davidson Softail motorcycle southbound on Colorado Avenue when he tried to pass a John Deere Tractor pulling a tanker trailer on the west shoulder of the roadway

Fresno, CA. – Melissa Griffin, 47, of Tranquility, has been identified as the woman who was killed in a collision involving a motorcycle in Fresno on Thursday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on Colorado Avenue just north of Summer Avenue on Thursday, June 26.
A man was riding a Harley-Davidson Softail motorcycle southbound on Colorado Avenue when he tried to pass a John Deere Tractor pulling a tanker trailer on the west shoulder of the roadway.
The motorcycle ended up hitting the rear of the John Deere and the impact ejected the motorcycle rider and his passenger.
The passenger, identified as Griffin, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the motorcycle had major injuries and was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
