Fresno, CA – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly head-on crash that claimed the life of an elderly woman in Fresno Monday afternoon.
The crash happened around 12:35 p.m. on June 30 in the 5900 block of Butler Avenue, west of Fowler Avenue.
CHP said the 86-year-ld Fresno woman was driving a Nissan Versa eastbound on Butler Avenue when she allowed the car to drift into the westbound lane where she struck an oncoming Chevrolet Silverado head-on.
The elderly woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.
The driver of the Chev, a 20-year-old Fresno woman, and her passengers were not injured.
An investigation to determine the cause of the crash is ongoing and no additional information is available at this time.
