Spokane, WA.- One person was injured in a car accident that took place in Spokane early Tuesday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The incident took place on Division Street near Highway 395 at about 12:00 a.m. July 1.
A car with four people inside was reportedly traveling on Division Street at a high rate of speed when it lost control at a curve, went across the median, and slammed into a Department of Transportation sign.
The vehicle came to a rest in the southbound lanes and it burst into flames.
The driver fled the scene after the accident.
One of the passengers was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
