Woman Hurt in Safford Crash on E. U.S. Highway 70

Safford, AZ.- A woman was hurt in a suspected DUI accident in Safford on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Safford Fire Department.

The incident occurred in the 1200 block of E. U.S. Highway 70 at around 2:30 p.m. July 2.

According to authorities, a white Ford heavy-duty commercial Empire Service truck was traveling westbound on the highway when it tried to move to the shoulder to avoid an eastbound blue pickup truck that drifted into the path of oncoming traffic.

The blue truck ended up hitting the rear driver's side of the service truck.

The woman driving the blue truck was extricated and rushed to Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

The other motorist was not injured.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
