Sadie Bobo Dead, 4 Injured in Rear-End Crash on I-5 Near Ridgefield

Ridgefield, WA – The authorities have released the identity of a person who was killed in a rear-end collision that left four other people injured on I-5 near Ridgefield Saturday morning.

The deceased victim has been identified as Sadie L. Bobo, 19, of Portland, OR.

The deadly crash occurred at about 4:52 a.m. on July 5 on I-5.

Reportedly, a vehicle, operated by Skylar M. Wainis, 23, of Longview, Washington, rear-ended another car, operated by Young H. Chun, 76, of Beaverton, in the first lane of I-5 and then drove across the second and third lanes and struck a cable barrier before it came to rest on the left shoulder.

Bobo, who was a passenger in Wainis' car, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected. Bobo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wainis and his other passenger, 19-year-old Octovio L. Aguilar from Portland, were transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Washington Medical Center.

Chun and his passenger,  69-year-old Bikja Sung of Beaverton, were also injured and were transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Washington Medical Center.

WSP said Wainis faces charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.

Ridgefield, WA – One person was killed and four others were injured after two vehicles collided on near Ridgefield early Saturday morning.

The crash happened at about 4:52 a.m. on July 5 on I-5.

Authorities said a vehicle rear-ended another car in the first lane of I-5 and then drove across the second and third lanes and struck a cable barrier before it came to rest on the left shoulder.

The impact caused the second car to leave the roadway and travel through a Washington Department of Transportation fence, coming to rest on Delfel Road.

WSP said a passenger in the first vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt and died in the crash.

A second passenger in the car was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Washington Medical Center. The passenger was also not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

According to WSP, the driver of the first car, who now faces charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault, was also injured in the crash and was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Washington.

 The second driver and his passenger were also injured and were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Washington Medical Center. The two were wearing seatbelts at the time of the incident.

The crash remains under investigation.
