Blythe, CA. – Four people were hospitalized, two with critical injuries, after a single-car collision that happened Tuesday evening in Blythe, authorities reported.
The incident occurred around 7:24 p.m. in the 20000 block of Rannells Boulevard near 20th Avenue.
According to the Riverside County Fire Department, a car crashed into a canal under unclear circumstances.
Four people were in the car at the time of the collision. One of them was able to get out of the vehicle without assistance, but the other three were helped by responding firefighters.
Two people were airlifted to a regional trauma center with critical injuries, while the other two were taken by ground ambulance to a hospital with less serious injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
