Driver Dies in Solo-Car Collision on Ygnacio Valley Road in Walnut Creek

Creek, CA – The authorities have released the identity of a driver who was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Ygnacio Valley Road in late last month.

The Sheriff's Office identified the victim publicly as 24-year-old Evan Lonsdale.

The deadly crash happened at about 2:15 a.m. on June 29 near N. Broadway.

Investigators said Lonsdale lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree in a parking lot in the 600 block of Ygnacio Valley Road.

Lonsdale's car caught fire after the crash, and the Contra Costa Fire Protection District personnel were able to put out the fire before it could spread.

Lonsdale was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident was reported around 2:15 a.m. on Ygnacio Valley Road near North Broadway.

A driver reportedly lost control of their car and hit a tree in the parking lot in the 600 block of Ygnacio Valley Road.

The vehicle caught fire after the crash.

The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to the scene and extinguished the fire before it could spread to nearby buildings.

The driver died in the accident.
