Jamul, CA. – One person died after their car rolled down an embankment Sunday morning in Jamul, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The accident occurred around 6:26 a.m. in the 16000 block of Skyline Truck Trail.
Cal Fire responded to the scene and found an SUV overturned onto its roof about 70 feet down an embankment after it veered off the roadway.
The firefighters extricated the driver and pronounced them dead at the scene.
The San Diego County Coroner responded to the scene around 6:55 a.m.
The car was pulled back up the embankment using a cable.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
