A driver reportedly slammed into a pole on the freeway under unclear circumstances

Spokane, WA.- A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Spokane on Thursday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The incident took place just before 9 a.m. on I-90 near the Flora Road exit.
A driver reportedly slammed into a pole on the freeway under unclear circumstances.
Shortly after, the driver stepped out of their vehicle and was hit by a semi-truck.
The driver died at the scene of the accident.
The eastbound side of I-90 was shut down in the area as authorities investigated the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
