Elias Solano and Jatziry Alvarado Killed in Eloy Car Crash on Interstate 10

Eloy, AZ – The authorities have released the names of two people who died in a head-on crash on I-10 near Eloy, Pinal County, Thursday evening.

The deceased victims were identified as Elias Solano, 18, and Jatziry Rios Alvarado, 18, both from .

The deadly crash occurred at about 6:15 p.m. on July 17 in the westbound lanes of I-10 near Picacho, about 5 miles outside of Eloy.

Investigators said Solano was driving a black Jeep Cherokee SUV eastbound on I-10 when he suddenly veered to the left and drove across the median into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a white Ram pickup truck.

Solano and his passenger, Jatziry Alvarado, were ejected due to the crash. The two were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck was flown to the hospital with major injuries.

Eloy, AZ – Two people were killed in a traffic collision in Eloy on Thursday evening, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The crash happened on , near milepost 214, at around 6 p.m. on July 17.

According to the DPS, a Jeep was traveling eastbound on I-10 when it drifted across the median and collided head-on with an oncoming Ram truck.

The two occupants of the Jeep were ejected and were both pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Ram was flown to a hospital with serious injuries.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
