Phoenix, AZ – The Phoenix police have released the name of a woman who was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian collision in Phoenix late Sunday night.
The deceased woman was identified as 24-year-old Angel Benkelman.
Phoenix police said Benkelman was found unconscious in the roadway after she was reportedly struck by a vehicle that left the scene.
She was rushed to the hospital where she later died.
The driver remains at large.
The deadly crash happened at about 11:50 p.m. on July 20 at 9th Avenue and Broadway Road

Phoenix, AZ – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash that happened in Phoenix late Sunday night, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The accident took place on 19th Avenue and Broadway Road just before midnight on July 20.
A vehicle reportedly hit a woman in the area and fled the scene before authorities arrived.
The woman was rushed to a hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
The victim's identity was not immediately released.
Police are searching for the hit-and-run motorist.
