Whittier, CA. – A motorcyclist was severely injured in a collision that happened Tuesday afternoon in Whittier, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The incident occurred around 1:19 p.m. on the southbound 605 Freeway, just south of Peck Road.
According to CHP, a motorcyclist collided with a Nissan SUV for an unknown reason.
The rider was left down in the HOV lane, and the bike was blocking both the HOV lane and the No. 1 lane.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and took the rider to the hospital with major injuries.
Investigators are gathering information to determine what happened leading up to the crash.
