1 Severely Injured in Lake Balboa Accident at Vanowen Street
Lake Balboa, California (August 5, 2022) – A multi-car collision left one person with critical injuries late Thursday night in Lake Balboa, Los Angeles County, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The collision occurred at around 11:08 p.m. on August 4, at 7730 West Vanowen Street near White Oak Avenue.
Per the report, four cars crashed for reasons yet to be determined. Following the impact of the collision, one of the vehicles struck and toppled a utility pole before rolling over and crashing into a nearby commercial building.
Responding fire officials and medical personnel rushed to the crash site and extricated one person pinned inside one of the cars. The person was transported to a trauma center for treatment of critical injuries. The patient was listed in critical condition.
The name of the patient was not immediately released.
Authorities said three other persons injured in the crash declined medical assistance.
Police closed a portion of Vanowen Street following the accident.
An investigation is underway.
