1 Hospitalized after Crash on Highway 4 and Sand Creek Road in Contra Costa

Contra Costa, Calif. – At least one person sustained minor injuries in a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 4 in Contra Costa Tuesday afternoon.

According to a police report, the incident happened at around 2:39 p.m. on the westbound State Route 4 just west of Sand Creek Road.

A grey Toyota TAC, a white GMC, and a third vehicle were involved in the wreck. The events leading up to the collision were not immediately established.

At least one person was transported to John Muir Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Both lanes of the highway were closed during the investigation.

More details about the mishap were not available.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
