Multiple vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of the highway near Vineyard Avenue

Oxnard, Calif. – One person was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision that happened Tuesday evening on a highway in Oxnard, the California Highway Patrol reported.
CHP officers were notified about the accident around 8:30 p.m. on southbound Highway 101, just south of Vineyard Avenue.
About six vehicles, including a gray Volkswagen Passat, a silver Subaru, and a blue Nissan Rogue, were involved in the collision.
Emergency personnel transported one person to Ventura County Medical Center with moderate injuries.
All the southbound lanes of the highway were briefly shut down following the accident.
An investigation to establish the cause of the crash is ongoing.
