Driver Hurt in Hesperia Semi-Truck Crash on Main Street and Mesa Linda Avenue in Hesperia

Hesperia, California (July 3, 2022) – One person was hospitalized after a semi-truck ran a red light and crashed into a car and a water valve Sunday morning at an intersection in Hesperia, as per a local news source.
The incident occurred at about 8:48 a.m. at Main Street and Mesa Linda Avenue, in front of the Tractor Supply store.
According to the report, a sedan with a green light was attempting to turn left onto Mesa Linda from Main Street when a semi honked before running a red light.
The big rig hit the car and continued for several hundred feet, where it slammed into a fire hydrant and a high-pressure water valve along the edge of the sidewalk.
The semi stopped in front of the Beyond gas station, where it caught fire.

Emergency personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the scene and helped the male driver of the sedan, who sustained minor injuries. The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Water gushed from the destroyed lines onto the roadway for about an hour.
Debris from the semi was also scattered across the east side of the roadway.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
