Tailgating accidents happen when the driver of a vehicle keeps too close to the vehicle in front of them, leaving a small gap between them. This can lead to a rear-end collision if the car in front suddenly slows or stops.

A tailgating accident is a type of aggressive driving. It's also known as “negligent driving” or “towing.”

The most common type of tailgating accident is a rear-end collision, but there are other types as well.

The most common cause of this type of crash is a driver following too closely behind another vehicle. The driver may have been speeding, running a red light, changing lanes too quickly, driving distracted, or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The most common injuries caused by tailgating are head and neck injury, and back injuries.
