A man was trapped inside the car and had to be extricated before being transported to Kern Medical with serious injuries

Bakersfield, CA. – One person was seriously injured in a car crash involving a semi-truck on Saturday night in Bakersfield.
The collision happened around 9:40 p.m. on Highway 99, just south of California Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A small sedan reportedly crashed into the rear of a semi-truck. The sedan's front end got stuck underneath the back of the semi and caught fire.
A man was trapped inside the car and had to be extricated before being transported to Kern Medical with serious injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
