One person was severely injured in a traffic collision on Holmes Street at Fourth Street in Livermore

Livermore, Calif. – One person was seriously injured in a traffic collision that happened on Tuesday afternoon in Livermore.
The accident happened on Holmes Street at Fourth Street at around 2:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
An 86-year-old man was driving a Nissan sedan northbound on Holmes Street when he ran a red light and struck a blue Honda SUV traveling eastbound on Murrieta Boulevard.
The Nissan driver was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The 68-year-old driver of the Honda was unhurt.
