According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 8:56 a.m. on Highway 101, just north of Balboa Boulevard.
Four vehicles, including a silver Hyundai Accent and a black Toyota, were involved in the crash.
One person sustained minor injuries in the accident. Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and provided medical aid to the party.
The No. 5 lane was briefly blocked following the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
