1 Injured in Spokane Car Crash on Interstate 90 in Spokane

Spokane, Wash. – One person was seriously injured in a rear-end collision involving a firetruck on Friday afternoon in Spokane Valley.

The crash happened on Interstate 90 near Sullivan Road at around 2:30 p.m.

A Spokane Valley Fire Department had stopped to assist at the scene of an earlier crash on eastbound I-90.

The crew had parked the fire engine on the roadway to shield the accident scene and first responders from any traffic approaching from behind.

A short time later, a speeding car slid and crashed into the back of the fire engine.

One person in the car that struck the truck was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

No other person was injured in the crash.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
