One Killed in San Jose Crash on Almaden Avenue and Virginia Street

, CA.- One person was killed in an accident that took place in San Jose early Friday morning, according to the San Jose Police Department.

The incident took place on Almaden Avenue and Virginia Street at about 2:46 a.m. May 30.

According to the report, two pedestrians were traveling westbound along the edge of Virginia Street when they were hit by a westbound blue Nissan Sentra.

The impact pushed one of the pedestrians, a man on a wheelchair, into a parked vehicle.

The man was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The other , a woman, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver fled the scene of the crash but was later located and arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, DUI, and hit-and-run.

He was booked into the Jail in San Jose.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
