One Killed, Two Seriously in Mission Hills Crash on Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway near San Diego (405) Freeway

Mission Hills, California (January 24, 2022) – One person was killed and two other people were seriously Monday morning in a traffic crash in Mission Hills, a local news source reported.
At around 7:30 a.m., authorities received a report about the accident on the westbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway near the San Diego (405) Freeway.
The driver of a sedan had stopped to change a tire on the shoulder of the roadway when a white cargo truck struck the sedan.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated one person who was trapped in the wreckage.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Two men were taken to a hospital with major injuries. Their current condition was not disclosed.
Multiple lanes of the freeway were shut down during the investigation and cleanup.
The crash remains under investigation.
