1 Killed and 2 Hospitalized after Selma Crash on De Wolf Avenue and Floral Avenue
Selma, California (June 7, 2022) – One person was killed in a Tuesday night two-vehicle accident that left two other people seriously injured in Selma, authorities said.
The crash occurred at about 8:10 p.m. on De Wolf Avenue and Floral Avenue.
According to the officials, two vehicles collided in the area for undetermined reasons.
Sadly, one person sustained fatal injuries in the mishap.
Two other parties were seriously injured and were hospitalized for treatment.
More details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
Traffic Collision Fatalities Reached a 16-Year High in 2021, Early Estimates Show
Newly released estimates by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) show that fatalities reached a 16-year high last year. According to the Early Estimate of Motor Vehicle Traffic Fatalities in 2021 report released by NHTSA, about 42,915 people were killed in traffic collisions in 2021. This shows a 10.5% increase from the 38,828 fatalities reported in 2020. NHTSA says the projection is the highest number of traffic deaths since 2005 as well as the largest percentage rise in the history of the Fatality Analysis Reporting System.
