Selma, CA – A driver was killed and femal passenger injured on a traffic collision at an intersection in SelmaTuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 9:30 a.m. at Parlier and McCall Avenues.
A Chevrolet pickup truck had pulled out from a stop sign on Parlier Avenue when it collided with a big rig that was driving on McCall Avenue. The pickup truck became engulfed in flames.
The driver of the Chevy was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman in his passenger seat was pulled out of the truck by a passerby and taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
The driver of the semi was not hurt.
Investigators believe the morning's dense fog played a role in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
