One Killed, Two Hospitalized after Salinas Crash on W Blanco Road and Armstrong Road
Monterey County, California (October 21, 2021) – One person was killed and two other people were injured in a traffic collision involving four vehicles Thursday afternoon in Salinas, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The deadly 4-car crash happened at around 1:11 p.m. at the intersection of W. Blanco Road and Armstrong Road.
According to the CHP, a Nissan Altima was traveling in the area when it tried to pass a white Chevrolet Camaro. For unknown reasons, the Nissan Altima rear-ended a black 2014 Nissan Pathfinder SUV.
As a result of the collision, the Nissan Altima overturned and landed on its side while the SUV sustained major top damage. A silver 4-door 2012 Honda Accord also collided with the vehicles.
1 Killed, 2 Injured in Blanco Road Accident
The driver of the Nissan Altima sustained major injuries and died at the scene. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
Two other people were transported to a hospital in unknown condition.
W Blanco Road was closed at Davis Avenue for an unknown period following the collision.
CHP is investigating the incident.
