Man Dies after Oxnard Boating Accident near Ormond Beach
Ventura County, California (October 14, 2021) – One person died after a sailboat capsized off the coast of Oxnard on Monday afternoon, the Oxnard Fire Department reported.
The fatal boat accident happened near Ormond Beach at about 4:20 p.m. October 12.
The Fire Department said a 32-foot sailboat capsized after experiencing rough waters and high winds.
Four people were inside the boat and managed to swim to the shore. One of the victims, an adult male, suffered a cardiac arrest and was flown to St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard.

Sadly, the unidentified man died while receiving treatment.
Units from the Ventura Fire Department and the Federal Fire Department also responded to the incident.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
