Easton, Calif.– A man was killed in a collision near Easton on Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on Lincoln Avenue and Hughes Avenue at about 7:45 a.m.
The CHP said a 27-year-old man was driving an SUV northbound on Marks Avenue when he failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with a big rig traveling eastbound on Lincoln Avenue.
The driver of the SUV was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected by the impact of the crash.
The SUV driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The operator of the semi-truck was able to get out of the burning big rig and only suffered minor injuries.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck.
