Woman, 63, Killed in Nestor Car Crash on 5 Freeway near Coronado Avenue
San Diego, California (April 12, 2022) – One person was killed and another was injured in a car crash in San Diego's Nestor neighborhood on Tuesday morning.
The accident was reported at around 11 a.m. on Interstate 5 Freeway near Coronado Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol said a 65-year-old San Diego man was driving a car northbound on I-5 when his car veered across lanes and was hit by a Volkswagen Jetta driven by a 24-year-old Chula Vista woman.
The impact of the collision caused the Ford to overturn, ejecting a 63-year-old San Diego woman who was riding as a passenger in the car.

The passenger was transported to the hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.
The driver of the Ford was transported to the hospital with major injuries while the driver of the Volkswagen was hospitalized with minor injuries.
More details about the accident were not provided.
