Bend, Ore. – A driver was killed in a head-on collision that happened on Tuesday night in Bend.
The deadly collision occurred on Highway 99, just south of Highway 58.
A white Jeep was traveling southbound when the driver allowed it to drift onto the shoulder in unclear circumstances.
The driver overcorrected and spun into oncoming traffic before colliding head-on with an oncoming pickup truck that was towing a travel trailer.
The Jeep driver, a Bend man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other people were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
State Police said speed and distracted driving played a role in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
