The driver of the Toyota was transported to Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital where he died while receiving treatment
San Benito, CA. – One person was killed in a Wednesday morning car accident that happened near Gilroy in San Benito County.
The fatal collision happened around 3:55 a.m., on Shore Road near Lake Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 1999 Toyota Camry was traveling east on Shore Road when it drifted into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a 2020 Hyundai Accent driven by a 67-year-old man.
The 20-year-old driver of the Toyota was transported to Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
The driver of the Hyundai was transported to Natividad Medical Center with minor injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
