Merced, CA. – One person was killed in a that happened on Sunday evening in Merced County.

The motorcycle accident happened on Highway 165 near River Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

23-year-old Juan Granados, of Stevinson, was riding a 2011 Chevrolet Suburban northbound on Highway 165 when he collided with a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The impact of the collision caused the rider to be ejected and thrown off the Merced River Bridge.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced the rider deceased.

The victim was identified only as a 37-year-old man.

Granados was unhurt. He remained at the accident scene and cooperated with the police.
