1 Dies in Oakland Car Accident on Interstate 880 near Coliseum in Oakland
Oakland, California (August 15, 2022) – One person was killed in a six-vehicle collision that took place early Monday morning near Coliseum in Oakland, as per a local news source.
The pileup occurred at about 2:57 a.m. on southbound Interstate 880, south of the 66th Avenue on-ramp.
According to CHP, a car was rear-ended by another vehicle for unknown reasons. An occupant of one of the cars was ejected and struck and killed by a third vehicle. The third car did not stop after the accident.
A fourth car swerved in an attempt to avoid the first crash but ended up crashing. Authorities said a fifth vehicle hit the deceased party on the ground and stopped.
A sixth car was also involved in the accident, but the details were not mentioned.
