Bakersfield, Calif. – A 23-year-old woman was struck and killed by a car on Highway 99 in Bakersfield early Tuesday morning.
According to the authorities, the wreck happened at around 12:30 a.m. on the southbound Highway 99 south of Olive Drive.
A vehicle was unable to avoid hitting a woman standing on the lane 4 of the highway.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the deceased was not immediately established.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officers.
