Rialto, CA. – A motorcyclist died after being struck by a loose tire that came off a semi-truck on Thursday morning in Rialto.
The tragic incident happened around 7:38 a.m. on the eastbound 210 Freeway near Pepper Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities say a motorcycle was traveling on the freeway when it was struck by a tire that came off an Amazon semi tractor-trailer that was parked on the right shoulder of the freeway.
The rider suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the rider was not immediately disclosed.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
